Muhammad Yaseen Khan, Founder and President of Sundas Foundation, has been awarded the prestigious Sitara-i-Imtiaz by Asif Ali Zardari in recognition of his four decades of humanitarian services for thalassemia, hemophilia and blood disorder patients across Pakistan.
Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has conferred the Sitara-i-Imtiaz upon Muhammad Yaseen Khan, Founder and President of Sundas Foundation, in recognition of his outstanding services in the fields of humanitarian work, social welfare, thalassemia prevention and care for patients suffering from blood-related disorders.
The special investiture ceremony was held at the President House in Islamabad, where distinguished personalities from various fields were honored with national awards. On this occasion, Muhammad Yaseen Khan was awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz for his four decades of dedicated service to children suffering from thalassemia, hemophilia, and other blood disorders.
Through the platform of Sundas Foundation, Muhammad Yaseen Khan has played a pivotal role in providing free blood transfusions, medicines, diagnostic facilities, and treatment to thousands of deserving patients across the country. Under his leadership, Sundas Foundation has established welfare centers in Lahore and other cities, where underprivileged patients are continuously receiving medical support.
Over the past forty years, Yaseen Khan has devoted his life to humanitarian service, a mission that continues with the same passion today. He also rendered exemplary services during major national crises, including relief and rehabilitation efforts during the devastating 2005 earthquake. During the 2010 dengue outbreak, he remained actively engaged in patient care, treatment support, and awareness campaigns. Similarly, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he not only continued supporting thalassemia patients but also contributed significantly to helping coronavirus patients by facilitating medical care and relief services.
Speaking after the ceremony, Muhammad Yaseen Khan said that this honor truly belongs to the entire Sundas Foundation team, volunteers, generous blood donors, and all those who have supported this mission of serving humanity. He added that the greatest reward for him is the smiles on the faces of children receiving treatment at Sundas Foundation. The prayers of these children and the trust of their parents remain his greatest strength.
He further stated that he assures all thalassemia, hemophilia, and blood disorder patients that Sundas Foundation will always remain a beacon of hope for them. The entire team will continue its services with even greater dedication to ensure a better and safer future for these children.
