In a moving display of compassion and solidarity, Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Punjab, Ms. Azma Zahid Bukhari, paid a special visit to Sundas Foundation Lahore, where she spent time with children battling Thalassemia and Hemophilia.
Ms. Bukhari was warmly received by President of Sundas Foundation Yaseen Khan, Patron Suhail Ahmed Warraich, and Director Khalid Abbas Dar, who welcomed her and accompanied her on a tour of the facility. During the visit, Ms. Bukhari interacted with patients undergoing regular blood transfusions, praising their courage and resilience.
The Minister’s visit was not only symbolic—it carried a powerful message of inclusion and empowerment. She distributed heartfelt gifts among the young patients and, on behalf of Chief Minister Punjab, Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, presented an electric bike to a brave young female patient. This gesture was aimed at encouraging her mobility and independence, and it left a lasting impression on both the staff and patients present.
Addressing the media, Ms. Bukhari lauded Sundas Foundation’s enduring commitment to free, high-quality care for underprivileged patients suffering from lifelong blood disorders. She paid tribute to the Foundation’s late founder, Munnu Bhai, for his humanitarian spirit and unmatched service to society.
“Children affected by Thalassemia need continuous support and regular blood transfusions. We must all step forward to donate blood and become part of their journey toward a healthier life,” said Ms. Bukhari. She emphasized the Punjab government’s ongoing dedication to improving healthcare services and ensuring that nonprofit institutions like Sundas Foundation receive the recognition and support they deserve.
The visit concluded on a hopeful note, reaffirming the collective mission to uplift the lives of patients in need and continue spreading awareness about these chronic conditions.
