Special Assistant to CM Punjab Salma Butt Visits Sundas Foundation Lahore

Chairperson of CM’s Task Force on Price Control Ms. Salma Butt visited Sundas Foundation Lahore met children receiving treatment for thalassemia and hemophilia distributed gifts and reviewed the foundation’s medical facilities. She praised the foundation’s humanitarian efforts and reaffirmed the Punjab Government’s commitment to improving healthcare for children with blood disorders.

Lahore: Chairperson of the Chief Minister’s Task Force on Price Control Ms. Salma Butt visited Sundas Foundation Lahore where she met children undergoing treatment, distributed gifts and reviewed the medical facilities provided to patients suffering from thalassemia, hemophilia and other blood disorders.

The distinguished guest was warmly received by the foundation's management. Consultant Hematologist Dr. Saira Mueen gave Ms. Salma Butt a detailed briefing on the foundation’s medical services, advanced treatment procedures, modern equipment and efficient blood management system.

Dr. Saira shared that Sundas Foundation provides free blood and treatment to thousands of patients every month ensuring international standards in healthcare are upheld.

She further informed that the foundation is actively working on genetic screening and new research-based programs to enable early diagnosis and prevention of inherited blood disorders.

At the conclusion of the visit Ms. Salma Butt spoke to the media commending Sundas Foundation for its outstanding humanitarian work in the treatment and care of children battling serious blood diseases like thalassemia and hemophilia.

She stated that over 12,000 children are currently receiving treatment at Sundas Foundation Lahore where in addition to blood transfusion services, patients are also provided with comprehensive medical care, including dental treatment.

Ms. Salma described the foundation as a beacon of hope and humanity, emphasizing that such institutions are a source of pride for society.

She further added that the Government of Punjab is taking concrete and coordinated steps for the treatment and prevention of thalassemia with the aim of providing timely and modern medical facilities to affected children.

She reiterated that it is the government's priority to ensure high-quality treatment, regular blood availability and improved facilities for children with blood disorders and that public-private partnerships will play a key role in achieving these goals.

At the end of the visit Sundas Foundation presented Ms. Salma Butt with an honorary shield in recognition of her continued support for healthcare and social welfare initiatives.
