Punjab University partners with Sundas Foundation to support thalassemia patients.
LAHORE: Punjab University College of Pharmacy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sundas Foundation to strengthen support for thalassemia patients and promote healthcare initiatives. The signing ceremony, held at the College of Pharmacy, was attended by Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Ali, Principal Prof. Dr. Syed Atif Raza, Sundas Foundation President Yasin Khan, Director Khalid Abbas Dar, and other notable figures.
A large number of students participated in the event, pledging their commitment to supporting thalassemia patients through blood donation drives and awareness campaigns.
Sundas Foundation Director Khalid Abbas Dar welcomed the partnership, expressing gratitude for the university’s involvement. He emphasized the foundation’s ongoing efforts to provide free treatment to over 7,000 registered thalassemia patients who rely on regular blood transfusions. He further highlighted that student engagement would amplify their mission to save lives.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Ali praised Sundas Foundation for its humanitarian work and reaffirmed Punjab University’s commitment to the cause. He commended the College of Pharmacy students for their active role in social welfare and encouraged them to continue their efforts.
Attendees hailed the collaboration as a significant step toward improving healthcare facilities for thalassemia patients, with expectations of long-term benefits through ongoing student participation and institutional support.
