
Rana Mashood Visits Sundas Foundation, Vows Government Support for Thalassemia Patients

LAHORE: Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan, visited Sundas Foundation, where he toured various departments, interacted with children undergoing treatment, and distributed gifts to uplift their spirits.
During his media address, Rana Mashood praised Sundas Foundation’s humanitarian efforts, commending its free treatment services for children suffering from Thalassemia, Hemophilia, and other blood disorders. He described the foundation as a "ray of hope for underprivileged patients" and assured full government support to further its mission.
Acknowledging the foundation’s continuous improvements, he lauded the dedication of its staff and management, emphasizing that Sundas Foundation serves as a model of humanitarian service.
Rana Mashood also underscored the importance of awareness campaigns for Thalassemia prevention, stressing that pre-marital screening is vital in reducing the disease’s prevalence. He announced that the government will collaborate with universities to promote awareness and organize awareness walks in partnership with Sundas Foundation.
During the visit, Medical Director Dr. Adnan Gilani provided a detailed briefing on the foundation’s operations, highlighting that over 7,000 Thalassemia and Hemophilia patients receive lifesaving, free-of-cost medical care. He also emphasized the urgent need for regular blood donations, noting that Thalassemia patients require transfusions at least twice a month.
At the conclusion of the visit, Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan expressed gratitude to Sundas Foundation Director Khalid Abbas Dar and lauded the leadership of President Yasin Khan. The event was also attended by COO Abdul Sattar and Director Finance Ali Rauf.
The visit reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting Sundas Foundation, ensuring continued efforts to save lives and improve healthcare for children battling blood disorders across Pakistan.
